On May 7th, members and guests of 100 Women Who Care Mississauga gathered at Amica Senior Lifestyles Erin Mills for a very special evening — our Spring Meet & Greet and 5 Year Anniversary Celebration.
What began as a simple idea five years ago has grown into a powerful community of women coming together to create meaningful local impact through collective giving. Since launching in April 2021, our members have helped support dozens of local charities and together have collectively donated more than $190,000 back into the Mississauga community.
While our Giving Circles are the heart of what we do, our Meet & Greets have become an important part of building something equally meaningful — connection.
Why We Started Hosting Meet & Greets
A few years ago, our Steering Team decided to introduce social gatherings throughout the year called Meet & Greets. The goal was simple: create space for members to connect outside of our Giving Circle events.
What we quickly realized was that these evenings became so much more than networking events.
They became opportunities to reconnect with old friends, meet new members, share stories, and build relationships with women who all share a common desire — giving back to the community.
For many members, joining 100 Women Who Care Mississauga was initially about supporting local charities in an easy and impactful way. But over time, something beautiful happened. Friendships formed. Collaborations started. Conversations deepened. Women found encouragement, support, and inspiration from one another.
The Meet & Greet events have become a reminder that community impact is not only about the dollars raised — it is also about the relationships built along the way.
Celebrating 5 Years Together
This year’s Spring Meet & Greet carried an extra layer of excitement as we celebrated our 5 Year Anniversary together.
The room was filled with energy, laughter, and conversation as members reflected on how far the organization has come since those early days in 2021.
Over the past five years, 100 Women Who Care Mississauga has grown into a thriving community of women committed to making a difference locally. Through our simple giving model, members donate directly to local charities selected at our Giving Circles, allowing 100% of member donations to go directly back into the community.
The collective impact has been incredible.
From supporting food insecurity initiatives and youth programs to mental health supports and community services, our members have helped fund projects that create real change for local families and organizations.
Welcoming New Guests
One of the highlights of the evening was welcoming 17 guests to the event.
We are always grateful when members invite friends, family members, neighbours, and colleagues to experience what 100 Women Who Care Mississauga is all about.
The Meet & Greet atmosphere is intentionally relaxed and welcoming, making it the perfect introduction for anyone curious about joining our community.
Guests had the opportunity to learn more about how our Giving Circles work, hear stories from existing members, and experience firsthand the warmth and generosity that define this organization.
Networking, Conversations & A Lot of Laughs
The evening also included a fun and engaging networking activity that encouraged members and guests to mingle and connect with new people throughout the room.
Our Networking Bingo game was a huge success and sparked countless conversations as attendees searched for people who matched different bingo squares such as:
- Has attended 5+ Giving Circles
- Has volunteered with a charity
- Owns a business
- Has brought a guest tonight
- Loves networking events
The activity created plenty of laughter and helped break the ice for newer attendees.
Congratulations to Cathy, Janice, and Sharon, who each won beautiful necklace prizes during the networking activity.
Moments like these remind us that community building can be meaningful and fun at the same time.
