There are moments in life when you have to pause and appreciate how far you’ve come.

This week, I had the privilege of appearing on CHCH Morning Live to talk about 100 Women Who Care Mississauga, the giving circle I founded in 2021. Sitting in the studio and sharing our story with viewers across the region was both exciting and humbling.

While appearing on television was certainly a memorable experience, the real highlight wasn’t being on camera. It was having the opportunity to shine a spotlight on the incredible women, volunteers, sponsors, and charities that have made our chapter what it is today.

When I launched 100 Women Who Care Mississauga, I had a simple vision: bring women together to make a meaningful impact in our community through collective giving.

The concept is straightforward. Members gather three times a year, listen to presentations from local charities, and collectively donate to the organization selected by the group. Individually, a donation may seem modest, but together, the impact is significant.

What began as an idea has grown into a powerful community of women who care deeply about Mississauga and the people who call it home.

During the interview, I had the opportunity to explain how our giving circle works and why this model of philanthropy is so effective. I also shared some of the impact our members have made over the past five years.

To date, our members have collectively donated more than $190,000 to local charities.

That number represents much more than dollars. It represents meals served, families supported, women empowered, children helped, and community programs strengthened.
Every donation tells a story.

One of the things I love most about 100 Women Who Care Mississauga is that members learn about charities they may never have discovered otherwise. Each Giving Circle introduces us to organizations doing incredible work behind the scenes, often with limited resources but unlimited passion.

Being able to showcase that impact on a platform like CHCH Morning Live was a wonderful opportunity to raise awareness and hopefully inspire others to get involved in their own communities.

Of course, television appearances come with a few nerves. There is something about bright studio lights, cameras, and a live audience that gets your heart racing. Thankfully, the CHCH team was welcoming, professional, and made the experience enjoyable from start to finish.

As I reflected on the experience afterward, I realized this interview wasn’t really about me. It was about the collective power of women coming together to create change.

Every member who attends a Giving Circle, every volunteer who gives their time, every sponsor who supports our operations, and every charity that courageously shares its story is part of this journey.

The interview served as a reminder that when people come together with a shared purpose, amazing things can happen.

I am incredibly proud of what our chapter has accomplished over the past five years, but I am even more excited about what lies ahead. We continue to grow, welcome new members, and expand our impact throughout Mississauga.

If you’ve ever wondered whether one person can make a difference, I encourage you to remember this: you don’t have to do it alone.

When women come together with a common goal, small individual contributions can create extraordinary results.
